Hydraulic hammers for excavators as attachment – make your machine multipurpose-ready

Hydraulic hammers serve one single task: destroying. Hence, the hydraulically driven hammers have to be equipped with a chisel that transfers the energy of the hammer pin to the material that needs to break – in most cases stone or concrete.

As excavators come in a variety of sizes, also hydraulic hammers do. The reason is blatant: the excavator's boom has to handle the weight of the hydraulic hammer and in order to do so, the machine itself needs to have multiples of the digger weight. Needs to say, that an attachment of 1 ton would demolish any micro excavator.

For example, excavators with a weight of 18-24 tons are usually equipped with attachments of 1000 kg to 1500 kg. One hydraulic hammer in this range is the 501 series, amongst others produced by Montabert, FM or Omal. On a side note: Montabert – now Ingersoll-Rand – first developed this hammer as the BRH 501 in the late 1970s and it is the most commonly used hydraulic hammer in the world.

The hydraulic hammer for sale on ITO Germany are most of the time new and their prices ranges from 6000 to 9000 Euro.
